Workout #7

Slow run in the dark rain.

40 minutes. Average heart rate 143 bpm. Max 166 bpm, sprinting to make a crosswalk light.

It is nice to have a program to follow, because it really motivates me to get out the door. Although I have long been quite motivated when it comes to fitness, it can be difficult to get out on these dark winter nights. It’s great that my husband says to the kids, “Mommy has to go for a run now,” his support of my goals making it impossible for me to skip a workout. It is especially nice to go right after he gets home from work (I am still on maternity leave) because 5 – 6:30pm is the witching hour for the kids and I get to step out the door and leave it all in his lap. No whining, no screaming, no fussing, just me in the dark and quiet.
