Workout #76 (not exactly a bike workout)

I was supposed to do a 45-minute recovery ride yesterday, so I just bike commuted to class and back. In the pouring rain and gusting wind. In retrospect, I wouldn’t exactly call it a recovery ride. It was hard work trying to not get blown off the bike!

It was fun to be back on the commuter bike. There was a time when I didn’t own a car and I rode my bike everywhere. It felt good to not rely on a car all the time and, the more I bike commuted, distances shrank. Within a 15km radius, it usually took me the same amount of time to get somewhere as if I drove (and was faster than public transit most of the time). When I am back at work full-time in June, I’ll be using the commuter bike a lot more again.

Also, I’m skipping my swim workout today and will make up for it by doubling up with a swim and run tomorrow.
