Goals

Triathlon Training Goals 2012

Target races:

  1. Delta Triathlon, April 21
  2. Penticton or Squamish Olympic distance, July 15
  3. Kelowna Apple, August 19
  4. GranFondo Whistler, September 8 (this is for fun)

Specific goals:

  1. A top 3 triathlon finish in my age category (dare I aspire for #1?).
  2. Achieve a personal best: faster than 2:36:46 for an Olympic distance triathlon.
  3. Get faster on the bike: faster than 1:15:47 in an Olympic distance race.
  4. Sub-46-minute 10km in a triathlon in 2012.
  5. Sub-45-minute 10km (not in a triathlon).

General goals:

  1. Have fun.
  2. Consistent core strength training to supplement triathlon training (2-3x/week)
  3. Rest when I need to.
  4. Maintain perspective when life/training hiccups inevitably appear.
